ARA 290 is an 11-amino acid peptide that has strong tissue protective and regenerative properties. It is an EPO analog that does not stimulate erythropoiesis and clot formation. Preclinical and clinical studies have shown that through selective interaction with the innate repair receptor (IRR). The innate repair receptor (IRR) simultaneously activates anti-inflammatory and tissue repair pathways. Experimental data suggest that after peripheral nerve injury, IRR is elevated in the spinal cord and modulates the neurogenic inflammatory response.
In other words, ARA-290 provides all the therapeutic effects of EPO without excessive red blood cell production or other messy effects.
