Timulin is a chemically defined zinc-dependent thymic hormone derived from serum, which is involved in T-lymphocyte differentiation and enhancement of T and NK lymphocyte function. Early reports that thymus extract stimulates hair growth appeared as early as the 1990s. Other studies have shown significantly lower amounts of zinc and copper in the hair of people with alopecia , and the introduction of zinc can improve the condition of the hairline in AGA.

Description

Baldness occurs in a significant percentage of adults and increases with age from 31% in men (40-55 years) to 53% (65-69 years). Hair loss can also occur in women, but is more common in men. The most common form of hair loss in men is androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness, AGA). Hair loss is often associated with follicle inactivation. Androgenetic alopecia is a global problem and can cause mild psychological stress and even high levels of anxiety and depression.

There were no studies in the scientific literature prior to Vickers et al (2017) in vivo in humans that examined the Biological activity of combined zinc-thymulin complex in hair loss. Vickers examined Zinc Thymuline in the context of testing its effectiveness in treating hair loss. The study showed that topical treatment with zinc thymulin significantly accelerated hair growth within 6 months; moreover, there were no systemic or local side effects of the treatment. Zinc thymulin metallopeptide optionally also improves endogenous hair pigmentation.

The tests proved safe and effective, and the confirmed clinical results were published in the peer-reviewed medical journal Hair Therapy and Transplantation.

At the molecular and cellular level, Zinc-Thymulin is involved in the stimulation of the anagen phase (the stage of active growth of the hair follicle, during which rapid cell division occurs and the hair shaft develops). Zinc thymulin Not only prevents further hair loss, but also eliminates hair loss that has already occurred, increases hair density by reactivating inactive hair follicles.
