Selank 60 mg

204.00

Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide, which is a derivative of the naturally occurring tetrapeptide tuftsin in the human body with the sequence: threoline-lysine-proline-arginine. The most important biological activity of tuftsin is the activation of phagocytosis of granulocytes and macrophages. It also induces pinocytosis or aerobic outburst of phagocytes, resulting in increased bactericidal activity of these cells. It has been shown that by activating immune processes, particularly phagocytosis, tuftsin can indirectly affect the nervous system.

In studies, Selank revealed its anti-anxiety properties. One study showed a change in the levels of monoamine neurotransmitters due to its effects, which could theoretically indicate that it interacts with serotonin resulting in anti-anxiety effects and feelings of relaxation. It is worth noting that this theory has been supported by several studies, which clearly indicate that Selank increases serotonin metabolism.

Selank helpful in Multple Sclerosis ?

Multiple sclerosis is considered not only a demyelinating disease of the central nervous system, but also a neurodegenerative disease.

How can selank help?

It can influence on the fate of T lymphocytes by down-regulating the Th1 pro-inflammatory response and increasing anti-inflammatory cytokines. Infusion of tuftsin in vivo promotes the dominance of the Th2(immune polarization) phenotype with an increase in anti-inflammatory cytokines and the appearance of markers specific to the Treg immunosuppressants. Finally, tuftsin-modulated T cells reverse clinical signs of disease in mice with established EAE,(Experimental Allergic Encephalomyelitis induced for the study) suggesting promising therapeutic possibilities. All products listed on this website (lunapharm.eu) are for research purposes only.
